Insurance

The cost of routine eye exams and prescription eyewear can be of real concern, especially for large families. In many cases, vision insurance can lower these annual expenses.

A vision insurance policy is not the same as health insurance. Regular health insurance plans protect you against financial losses due to unexpected eye injuries or disease.

Vision insurance, on the other hand, is a wellness benefit designed to provide routine eye care, prescription eyewear, and other vision-related services at a reduced cost.

Because Optometry At Redwood Shores provides both medical and routine eye care, we accept a number of insurance plans to help cover the cost depending on your individual needs.

We do accept other plans as well, so if you do not see your plan listed here, please give us a call and we would be happy to assist you. Our staff is also always available to answer any questions regarding your benefits.

Payment Options

Our office policy calls for payment at the time services are rendered. We are happy to assist you in the filing of your insurance claim. We may not be able to know precisely what your vision or medical insurance will cover. If your insurance will not pay the anticipated amount, has not reimbursed our office within 60 days, or pays you directly, you will be responsible for the balance due. We accept cash, personal checks, Visa, Mastercard.

Dear Valued Patients:

We love our patients and the work we do so very much. While we are sad to think we will have to miss seeing your beautiful smiles for the next few weeks, protecting the health and safety of our patients, staff and the members of our community is of the utmost importance.

In response to recent recommendations from the California Optometric Association and the local government for limiting the spread of COVID-19, our office is closed. All regularly scheduled routine eye appointments will be cancelled. Our team will reach out to those impacted to reschedule.

If you need assistance with ordering or picking up contacts/glasses, please email us at info@optometryatrws.com or text us at 650-551-9111. We will be checking both emails and texts throughout the day, but please be patient with us in getting back to you. If you are experiencing an eye emergency, please text us at 650-551-9111. We will do our best to get back to you in a timely manner. If you do not hear back within 30 minutes, please go to the local urgent care or the emergency room.

Thanks for your patience with us as we try to work through this. Stay tuned for updates via email.

Stay safe and healthy! We look forward to seeing you all back in a few weeks.

Thanks,

Your Friends at Optometry at Redwood Shores
